Abstract:
This workshop covers basic Photoshop concepts necessary for enhancing a one-shot color (OSC) image that has been calibrated and assembled in other software. Topics include:
- Why use Photoshop?
- OSC Processing Workflow
- Destructive vs. non-destructive edits
- Exposure and contrast adjustments
- Global edits with destructive tools
- Global Non-destructive adjustments using layers
- Intro to Color
- Basic color balance
- Sharpening and Noise Reduction
Photoshop is a very broad and powerful program with many tools that can be used for almost any type of image processing. The objective of Don’s Photoshop sessions is to give you a basic understanding of processing astro-images with Photoshop, and to highlight the Photoshop tools and techniques most commonly used to make your astrophotos pop.
Prerequisites:
Basic knowledge of image processing. Although not required, it will be helpful to already be familiar with how to perform basic functions with PhotoShop.
