We’ve shown some of the top 10 reasons for folks to come to TSP at https://texasstarparty.org/top-10-reasons-to-come/

What are some of your reasons?

    Dry
    Great birdwatching

    10. Wrangling Buffalo from the telescopes
    9. Drying out dessicant packs for my eyepiece cases
    8. Weird Galileo-like experiments such as seeing if a teaspoon of water evaporates more quickly than a Nagler (eyepiece) falling from the top of Mount Locke.
    7. Setting fire to anthills with a magnifying glass using only the light from the Milky Way (Now that is Bortle 1 sky!)
    6. Polishing my teeth using the high dusty winds of the Davis Mountains. MMMMmmm.. better than Crest toothpaste!
    5. Roller blading down Mount Locke
    4. Complaining how the Zodiacal light and Gegenshein are simply ruining the night skies
    3. Spending all night on the laptop posting complaints on Facebook about how the Zodiacal light and Gegenshein are simply ruining the night skies
    2. Weird Galileo-like experiments such as seeing if a teaspoon of water evaporates more quickly than a Nagler (Al or David) falling from the top of Mount Locke
… And the number 1. TSP Top 10….

It’s all about the PINS baby!

Can’t improve on the prior lists – so that is how Mr. Moody has such white teeth!

    Well, I guess some additions:

    1. Evening and afternoon speakers (you should propose a talk!)
    2. Hanging with old friends in the bunkhouse
    3. Astrophotography and Art contests at TSP
    4. Reata restaurant in Alpine (pricey but great)
