Brickhouse_AubreyEyepieces & Accessories, by Aubrey Brickhouse

Abstract:

When a new enthusiast begins to dabble in amateur astronomy, there is a bewildering array of challenges he or she will face, the first being what telescope to buy.

Then you’ll likely face the burning question, “what else do I need to maximize the results and enjoyment of my new telescope?”

Your new telescope probably came with a 24mm cheap eyepiece but what other eyepieces, hardware and accessories will you need? That will depend a lot on what stellar objects you want to focus on.

So we will tackle various eyepieces, accessories and a range of other hardware and software additions that you should consider when appropriate in your learning curve.

We also will discuss the need to properly plan for a night of viewing and that will include clothing, tables, charts and software.

If we have time, we will also touch on the addition of photography with a digital camera.
